Another week, another weekly gaming roundup. Let’s take a look at what’s new in the world of video games.
Amazon Announces Exclusive SNES-Themed New 3DS XL
As someone who follows Nintendo very closely, I was shocked to see Amazon make the SNES-themed New 3DS XL available for pre-order without any fanfare. Regardless, this thing looks incredible, and it comes with the SNES version of Mario Kart. I might just have to get my hands on this.
Fire Emblem Warriors Is Out
The game is well-made, but if you weren’t already a fan of the Fire Emblem or Dynasty Warriors franchise, this may not be the game for you. I’ve already played about 10 hours since it came out last Friday and I’m definitely enjoying it, but I can see how it’s not for everyone. You can get it for the Switch (like I did) or the New 3DS. Nintendo has said it will not work with older versions of the 3DS though, just the New 3DS models.
While the last week has been relatively quiet, that all changes in just a few days. Super Mario Odyssey, Wolfenstein 2, and Assassin's Creed Origins all come out on the same day, and all three are looking like serious game of the year candidates. I know I’ll be playing all three, the only hard part for me is figuring which one I’ll beat first. Probably Wolfenstein, I’m looking forward to killing a bunch of Nazis.
