It's-a me, back with another edition of the Weekly Gaming Roundup. Friday brought us three amazing new games, but that isn't all that's new in the world of gaming.
Sony Presents Brand New Trailers
It's Paris Games Week in, well, you know, Paris, and Sony is not messing around with their lineup of games coming soon. While we didn't get the release dates we were hoping for, we did get to see some awesome new trailers for upcoming games like Spider-Man, The Last of Us 2, and even a new game from Sucker Punch that has me really excited.
Super Mario Odyssey Is A Hit
The success of Super Mario Odyssey is not really shocking to anyone, but the numbers have still been incredible to see. The game has currently sold over 2 million copies, while the Switch itself was just announced at over 7.5 million systems sold. Odyssey is also sitting at a 97/100 review score on Metacritic, on par with Breath of the Wild. It's safe to say that Nintendo is having their best year in recent memory.
Wolfenstein 2 Is My Game Of The Year
While I have absolutely loved Super Mario Odyssey, and several other great games that came out this year, Wolfenstein 2 sits at the top of my list as my favorite. I've already completed the game on both optional timelines and am currently working on completing every side mission that becomes available once you beat the campaign. I won't spoil anything, but you really do need to play Wolfenstein 2.
Assassin's Creed Origins Is Ok, But Not Great
I have been a hardcore fan of Assassin's Creed since I first completed AC2 (a game I consider one of my top five favorite games of all time), but the most recent entries have left a lot to be desired. While Origins shows promise for the future of the franchise, it didn't quite pull me in like I was expecting it to. Still, Ubisoft's willingness to change the formula has me optimistic about what will come next in the world of Assassins.
That's all for this week, but check back next week for the latest edition of my Weekly Gaming Roundup!
